“I began leading Shell’s Commercial and New Business Development organization nearly a year ago now, which continues to be both a privilege and an incredible professional challenge.. More than ever, in this role, I meet and get to work with a diverse, global commercial community of bright, hard-working, and creative people – a continued personal highlight for me. I admire Shell as company following a clear, differentiated strategy and making compelling portfolio choices, which, besides delivering operational and financial targets, also give prominence to how we thrive through the energy transition and maintain our strong societal license to operate.
As to future challenges, we are, luckily, never “bored” in the energy industry – the volatility of prices, related capital constraints, evolving energy transition, assuring consistent ethical leadership and rigorous compliance, the competition for resources, increased digitalization – and, many other topics that we all face and influence on a daily basis. Not only do I know solutions for each of these challenges will be achieved, I’m passionate about how we, collectively, get there. Along those lines, and like many of you, my biggest challenge is …time. Enough time to grasp, with energy, all the important matters I see …yet protecting enough space and time to support and care for my growing sons, who sometimes miss their Mum – that is the ever-present challenge.”
