Cary Meadow, Executive Chairman and Ben Mendes, Director at Anvil Channel Energy Solutions describe the paradigm shift that they have seen in lenders’ appetites towards natural resources companies as a result of increasing regulatory restraints and rising ESG pressures. They join us to talk us through their strategy to fill the financing void in the market and provide small-to-mid cap Oil & Gas companies with access to capital, while providing desired risk-adjusted returns to their investors.
Please note that since recording this podcast, Boomerang Credit Fund has merged with Anvil Energy Partners to form Anvil Channel Energy Solutions and therefore any reference to Boomerang Credit Fund now refers to Anvil Channel Energy Solutions. The business combination will look to deploy up to $300,000,000 via a static pool lending facility for upstream oil and gas producers and will originate new issue facilities for borrowers seeking between $10,000,000 and $100,000,000 for refinancings, acquisitions and development of energy assets.

Mr. Meadow has been involved in the private equity industry, with a focus on the energy and infrastructure industries, for 20 years, including as Head of M&A for k1 Ventures, Ltd., a publicly traded investment company listed on the Singapore Stock Exchange. He additionally serves on the Board of Directors of Pavement Recycling Systems, Inc., and on the Investment Committee and Pension Committee at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Mr. Meadow has a B.B.A in Finance from University of Texas – Austin and a J.D. from the USC Gould School of Law.
Ben has spent 10 years in upstream oil and gas operations with Berry Petroleum and Linn Energy, mostly focused on heavy oil recovery in California. Ben holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from University of California, Santa Barbara. In addition, he is pursuing his Masters in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University.
Anvil Channel Energy Solutions is a private lender, partnering with borrowers to grow their businesses across a wide range of industries and sectors. We seek to partner with borrowers who require $15-75MM for acquisition, drilling and refinancing. As a private non-bank lending company, we are able to provide aggressive and creative lending levels and structures against PDP, PDNP and PUD assets. The Anvil team will review and lend to developers with projects throughout the lower 48. We have the in-place resources to quickly assess the potential lending base and provide indications of interest.
