Senior Consultant, Low Carbon Contracts Company (LCCC), on secondment from the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero.

Angela has over 20 years of experience working for the UK Government in various energy and infrastructure policy roles. This experience includes responsibility for delivering Contracts for Difference (CfD) auctions – the UK’s flagship scheme for incentivising renewable energy generation and widely regarded as the reason for the UK’s success as world leader on offshore wind. The CfD model is now being emulated to fund other decarbonisation schemes such as Hydrogen and nuclear RAB.  

Angela is currently on secondment to the Low Carbon Contracts Company as a Senior Consultant. Her role there includes sharing her policy-making expertise, knowledge of the CfD and other energy policies and financing major infrastructure projects. She is also providing insight on how UK Government works and navigating processes.         

Angela has previously held senior leadership roles in Energy Security, which included security of gas and electricity supplies, and in financing and project managing the New Nuclear Wylfa project. Angela also led the UK Government’s Policy team responsible for delivering the exemplar Thames Tideway Tunnel project considered a success story of Government collaborating with the private sector (Thames Water) to fund a major infrastructure project and deliver a successful outcome.
