Antonio, a chemical engineer by training, for the last 25+ years has worked within the Energy Industry, mostly as consultant/advisor, covering different positions spanning from process engineer to Leadership position of Energy Consulting Companies such as McKinsey, KBR, Enerdata and KBC. Before joining IFC, Antonio was the Executive Director Energy Transition/Carbon Services at Keppel Infrastructure. In IFC, Antonio leads the Industry Decarbonization initiative in the EAP region with special focus on hard-to-abate sector (Steel, Cement, Chemicals, Fertilizers, Glass and Aluminium) and circular economy (i.e. plastic recycling)
Antonio brings a mix of expertise covering decarbonization strategy design/implementation for companies, design of energy policies for countries, support of key flagship projects/initiatives for major Multi-Lateral Development Banks, creation of ESCOs, delivery of industrial park resources optimization (i.e. Jurong Island, Map Ta Phut, Chiba, Mizushima and Kashima) and delivered more than 100 Energy Efficiency/Decarbonization studies covering all the industrial sectors from the most complicated ones like Oil refineries & Petrochemical integrated plants to the simpler ones like glass production. Most recently, Antonio has been involved in CCS projects for South East Asian Governments and Corporations covering Carbon business strategy, carbon capture technology selection, feasibility and FEED studies, policies/regulations and geological assessments.
