Aref Najafi
Manager (Carbon Capture and Conversion), InnoTech Alberta
Aref Najafi, PhD, PEng, EP, CEM, PMP; (InnoTech Alberta) is the Carbon Capture, Conversion and Hydrogen Manager. In his role, he oversees advancements and development of technologies from Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 3 to 8 at two separate facilities. 1- Calgary research park lab: a facility for lower TRL technologies; and 2- Alberta Carbon Conversion Technology Center, which was established to de-risk and demonstrate technologies for higher TRL. InnoTech Alberta is keenly interested in advancing carbon capture and utilization (CCU) and hydrogen technologies through validation and de-risking for successful implementation and adoption by the industry.
Aref holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Alberta and has 25 years of industrial experience in the oil and gas industry, mainly in developing and deploying technologies at a commercial scale. Aref is currently an MBA student at Jack Welch Management Institute.
