Ayana McIntosh-Lee is the Vice President of Communications and External Affairs for BP in Mauritania and Senegal.

Since joining BP in 2004, Ayana has held senior roles in the US, Indonesia and Angola with responsibility for government, public and community affairs that support a range of oil and gas businesses. Notably, she led communications and external affairs activities which culminated in the sanctioning of the Tangguh LNG Expansion Project, located in the West Papua Province of Indonesia.

Prior to joining BP, Ayana oversaw public affairs for Chevron’s upstream and downstream activities in Louisiana and the Gulf of Mexico. She also served on the corporate media relations team in California with accountability for exploration and production; power, chemical and technology. She successfully led a number of major projects, including large community development initiatives and creation of the company’s first global policy and communications strategy on corporate social responsibility and sustainable development.

Ayana began her career in the media and community development sectors. She is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley.
