Professional Practice
Carlos is licensed lawyer in Mexico, residing in Calgary. He specializes in oil and gas, project financing and real estate. His practice focuses primarily on finance advising for projects such as commercial, residential and mixed-use developments, negotiation and development of strategic alliances and joint ventures, real estate and oil and gas. Carlos has also represented numerous clients in dispute resolution matters.

Prior Experience
Before SMPS, Carlos founded SOLORZANO CORPORATION and served for several years at a top tier Canadian law firm assisting several clients on successfully establishing their businesses in Mexico. Carlos also worked for Mexico’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the Consulate in Calgary being responsible of Mexico-Alberta economic affairs and providing potential investors with guidelines for conducting business. Before moving to Canada in 2002, Carlos practiced law with top tier law firms in Mexico representing Mexican and non-Mexican clients.

Education 
Carlos obtained his degree in Law from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM) in 1998. He participated in the Private, Public Partnerships Course and the Private Equity Transactions Course of Osgoode Law School, York University, in the years of 2006 and 2007, respectively, and the Alternative Dispute Resolutions Course in Alberta, Canada, in the year 2007.
