
Caroline Kracht
Managing Director
Based in Asia since 2006, Caroline Kracht is an accomplished senior female leader with 20+ years of investment banking experience in Asia, Europe and the Americas.
She joined Scotiabank in October 2011 as a Managing Director in the Asia-Pacific Energy Investment Banking team, and was named Head of Scotiabank’s Global Investment Banking business for Asia-Pacific in June 2016. She is a member of Scotiabank’s Asia-Pacific Leadership team and responsible for advisory business development and execution in the Asia-Pacific region for Scotiabank. Ms. Kracht has advised corporate clients (many family- or government-controlled), sovereign wealth and private equity funds in Asia, on strategic cross-border acquisitions, divestitures, takeovers, mergers, JVs and minority stake investments across many different industry sectors, but with a strong focus on Energy and Infrastructure.
Prior to joining Scotiabank, Ms. Kracht spent 13 years with Morgan Stanley, mainly in the Energy and Natural Resources sectors, in an M&A and capital markets capacity. She also gained valuable experience as a member of the regional company management and global strategy & business planning group there. Prior to her move to Asia in 2006, Ms. Kracht held positions in the UK, US and Germany.
Ms. Kracht graduated from ESCP Europe business school in 1998 with a dual Diplom-Kauffrau and Diplôme de Grande Ecole degree in Economics, Business Administration and Finance.
Prior to mid-2016 Georganne was CFO and Treasurer for Spark Energy Incorporated (Nasdaq: SPKE), a US natural gas and electricity supplier serving residential and commercial customers in 16 states, where from 2013 she was responsible for corporate financial reporting, risk management, accounting, financial planning and analysis, treasury, tax and internal controls. During her time there, she successfully completed the company’s initial public offering as well as several acquisitions. Prior to joining Spark Energy, Georganne served as Vice President Finance for US company Direct Energy’s retail energy business from August 2009 to October 2012 and in various other senior financial roles prior to that. Georganne began her finance career in 1987 with Arthur Andersen, where she audited companies across the energy value chain.
Georganne also holds memberships with TXCPA Houston, a chapter of the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the Women’s Energy Network.
