As the Head of Energy Transition, Sustainable Business and Infrastructure, in the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, I lead on the bank’s climate finance and policy dialogue in the energy infrastructure sector, comprising the fuels and electricity value chains, across the entire region of operation. As part of our engagement, my team supports the origination and use of financial instruments and products towards climate technology transfer and scale up of investments towards net-zero energy sectors, with particular focus on renewable energy solutions, energy storage, smart integrated energy infrastructure, renewable and low-carbon fuels (incl. hydrogen, e Fuels, biofuels); our work on policy dialogue focuses on the introduction of effective markets and regulatory frameworks for accelerating the energy transition. 

Highly technically literate (MSc in Mechanical Engineering, PhD in Energy Engineering) with core competence in managing and influencing client relationships for effective investment planning and delivery on industrial energy efficiency, power generation (advanced power plants, rehabilitation/repurposing of legacy installations, all types of renewable energy plants), gas infrastructure, Paris Alignment and carbon emissions mechanisms. Early career as university researcher and lecturer on energy markets and advanced energy systems, technical director of the Venice Energy Agency, and regional business line manager in one of the top global energy engineering consultancies.
