Daniel East is a Principal in the Energy Mezzanine Opportunities Fund at The Carlyle Group, focused on investment opportunities primarily in North America and Latin America. He is based in Houston. Mr. East was formerly Senior Vice President – Mergers and Acquisitions, Investor Relations and Treasurer at KGen Power Corporation. Prior to joining KGen Power, Mr. East was with Dynegy and worked in a number of roles in the Strategy & Planning group including Senior Director, Strategic Market Analysis and Senior Director, Strategy & Planning—Europe. Mr. East’s responsibilities during that period included managing the analysis of M&A transactions, originating structured transactions and structuring commodity hedges in the energy commodity markets. Mr. East received a BBA from the University of Houston and an MBA from Rice University.
