David has over 10 years of experience in the O&G industry and holds a Geophysical Engineering degree in the Universidad Central de Venezuela and a Master’s degree in Petroleum Geology from the IFP (France).

He started his career with Total, where he was instrumental in the interpretation and derisking of several prospects in the North Sea, Middle East and West Africa, that successfully led to the play opener discovery of Diaman offshore South Gabon.

He then joined Polarcus as a Regional Geoscience and Sales Manager for the Atlantic Margin, where he was involved in technology development, marketing and sales initiatives of both proprietary acquisition services and multi-client data in the region.

Currently David is the Business Development Manager at TGS, in one the core areas for the company in Africa, the MSGBC basin. In his role, David liaises extensively with host governments, partners and clients alike to successfully promote the offshore acreage of the region via the existing and future multi-client projects.
