Dr. Kaho Yu

Head of Energy and Resources, Verisk Maplecroft

Dr. Kaho Yu is the Head of Energy and Resources at Verisk Maplecroft, an ESG+P data analytics and consulting firm. He has a particular research interest in global energy and climate policies, low-carbon transition, Eurasian oil and gas cooperation, Chinese energy security, and the Belt and Road Initiative. He also leads Maplecroft's China research.

Prior to Verisk Maplecroft, Kaho was an associate of the Energy Geopolitics Program at Harvard Kennedy School and a lecturer at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He also holds affiliated research positions at the European Centre for Climate, Energy and Resource Security (EUCERS) at King’s College London, London Asia-Pacific Centre for Social Science, and the Asian Energy Studies Centre at Hong Kong Baptist University. Kaho obtained his PhD in International Political Economy from King’s College London.
