Dr. Kaho Yu is the Head of Energy and Resources Research at Verisk Maplecroft, a global risk consultancy. He is an energy market and geopolitics specialist with over 10 years of research experience in think tanks, academia and the private sector. In addition, Kaho serves as Maplecroft’s Lead China Analyst. His current research focuses on the geopolitics of energy transition, carbon market, critical mineral security and ESG risks in the Asia Pacific.

Prior to Verisk Maplecroft, he held academic positions at Harvard Kennedy School's Belfer Center, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and Renmin University in Beijing. Currently, Hehe also holds affiliated research positions at Asia Carbon Institute, the London Asia-Pacific Centre for Social Science at King’s College London, and the Asia Energy Studies Center. Kaho obtained a PhD in International Political Economy from King’s College London and publishes peer-reviewed research regularly. His latest academic book is China's Energy Security in the 21st Century: The Role of Global Governance and Climate Change.
