Emma Marcegaglia
Chair, ENI
Emma Marcegaglia is the Chair of the Board of Eni. Emma has been Chair since 2014. She graduated in Business Administration at the prestigious Bocconi University in Milan with top marks and also attended New York University. She has held various roles including a stint as president within Italy’s influential employers’ association, Confindustria. In a country where a mere 6% of Italian company board directors are women, Emma stands out and holds one of the most important roles in Italy and European oil and gas.
While humble about her own rise to prominence she has expressed that commitment and patience are key attributes for women entrepreneurs. She has previously underlined the importance of shifting from a mentality of small and incremental improvements to a mentality focused on values, connectivity and creativity. She goes on to explain that in life we should have a goal that is not to prepare for something, but to prepare for everything.
