James Mackey
Managing Director, Climate Investment
James Mackey is a Managing Director for Climate Investment, where he leads venture capital stage investments and structured capital solutions in real asset platforms and business models that reduce, recycle and store greenhouse gas emissions from large industrial facilities and high-emitting sectors. James joined Climate Investment in 2020 and is a Board Director at CI portfolio companies Wabash Carbon Services and F2V, and a Board Observer at KeyState, Quail Run Carbon and Net Zero Teesside.
Before joining Climate Investment, James was Senior Vice President of Finance for Apex Clean Energy, a leading developer of wind and solar generation facilities in North America. He was previously Head of Mergers and Acquisitions for NextEra Energy Resources and has held senior commercial roles with Dynegy, J.P. Morgan and Duke Energy. James holds an MBA from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business and a BA in Economics from Trinity College, Hartford.
