Mr. Thompson has served as the Vice President of Strategy and Corporate Development at Diamondback Energy since March 2021. Prior to his current role, he was the Vice President of Planning at Concho Resources from 2019 up until its sale to ConocoPhillips. During his nearly nine years at Concho, Mr. Thompson served in multiples roles in finance, operations, capital markets and strategy. Prior to joining Concho, Mr. Thompson worked in various roles in the energy group at Amegy Bank from June 2010 to July 2012. Mr. Thompson received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance and a Bachelor of the Arts degree in History from the University of Texas at Austin.
