Jesus Lamas
Director - Mexico & Central America, Schlumberger
Jesus has 19 years of leadership experience in the Oil & Gas industry and has held various Executive Management and Engineering positions in Latin America, North America, Africa, and Asia. He began his career in Schlumberger in 1998 in the Sahara Desert in Algeria.
Lamas holds a Master of Science Degree in Oil and Gas Industry Management from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, Strategic Finance from the International Institute for Management Development in Switzerland and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Simon Bolivar University in Venezuela.
Jesus assumed the role of Schlumberger Director for Mexico and Central America in June 2016. Prior to this, he held various Executive Management positions including Vice President Schlumberger Land Rigs for the Western Hemisphere, Vice President Drilling and Measurements for Latin America and Human Resources Director for Latin America.
His solid drilling experience and knowledge of the Oil & Gas industry is a result of his career progression in Schlumberger and external high level education. Jesus is responsible for important global achievements in the company. As Vice President Schlumberger Land Rigs for the Western Hemisphere, he participated in setting the strategic direction for the Rig of the Future corporate project that will create the next generation of advanced integrated drilling platforms . He also led the introduction of state-of-the-art technologies for performance drilling, well placement and advanced reservoir characterization while drilling in Latin America. He also managed the business strategy during key energy reforms in countries such as China, Brazil and Venezuela.
His global vision and his leadership of the Schlumberger corporate transformation program, will be a great contribution to the transformation that is taking place in the Energy Sector in Mexico.
