Prior to joining L1 Energy, Mr. Saraiva e Silva served as Managing Director of Carlyle’s International Energy Partners fund. Between 2008 and 2011, Mr. Saraiva e Silva was responsible for energy investments in Europe, Africa, FSU and Southeast Asia for Och-Ziff Capital. Prior to Och-Ziff, Mr. Saraiva e Silva worked for approximately nine years in the investment banking division of Goldman Sachs, with responsibility over a number of M&A and capital markets transactions in the energy sector. Mr. Saraiva e Silva has been a Senior Advisor to and Non-Executive Director in a number of energy-related companies, including New African Global Energy, Mitra Energy, PetroJava and Millenium Offshore Services. Mr. Saraiva e Silva received his degree in Economics from the Nova University in Lisbon, Portugal in 1999.
