Mr José Simón is Managing Director, Europe at Pavilion Energy and concurrently the Global Head of LNG Portfolio and Europe Trading. He is a member of the organisation’s Management Committee. José is responsible for overseeing Pavilion Energy’s European gas trading and global LNG portfolio management and origination business divisions.

He was formerly the Senior Vice President of Global Gas at Iberdrola, where he was responsible for the organisation’s natural gas and LNG activities, including supplies of piped gas and LNG as well as global LNG trading and shipping activities and operations.

Before joining Iberdrola, José worked as a consultant for Arthur Andersen, where he specialised in the energy sector. Since joining Iberdrola in 1997 as Director for Corporate Planning, he has held a range of leadership portfolios, which include Vice President of Gas Procurement and Director Gas Procurement, Coal and Carbon. He was responsible for leading the negotiations of Iberdrola’s longterm LNG contracts with Sonatrach, Nigeria LNG, ENI, Cheniere as well as the Isle of Grain regasification capacity contract.

José holds a PDD from the University of Navarra (IESE), and took the International Leadership Program from the Institute of Management Development (IMD), Lausanne and a Bachelor’s degree in Law and in Business and Administration from ICADE-UPC, Madrid.
