Juan Ignacio Rubiolo has over 14 years of experience in energy and electricity markets in America and Asia. He has served in a number of leadership roles in Strategic, Financial and Commercial Planning areas, as well as Project Management, Business Development, Commodities Risk Management, Structure of Products and Commercial contracts for electricity markets, Commodities and Risk Management.

Juan Ignacio joined AES Corporation in 2001 in Argentina and he has gone through different countries such as The Philippines, Panama, and Dominican Republic. From May 2014, he leads AES Mexico operations as President & CEO.

Some of his major achievements are: accomplished successful negotiations and closing of the first export of energy from AES San Nicolas to Brazil, the development of business strategies and Risk Management of AES in Dominican Republic , Panama and The Philippines ; the business development model for the expansion of the natural gas market in Dominican Republic; sales team development of AES's business in Dominican Republic, Panama, Mexico and The Philippines; and he has also participated in the development of the regulatory framework of the Philippines to encourage new investments, structuring, negotiation and signature of the main contracts of energy and fuels in Argentina, The Philippines, Dominican Republic and Panama.

Juan Ignacio has also advised other AES businesses in the structuring of business models in competitive and emerging markets.

His educational background is: Business Management at Business Darden School, Virginia, USA; a Master’s in Project Administration at Quebec University, Canada; and a Business Science Degree awarded by Universidad Austral of Argentina.
