Juancho Eekhout
Chief Development Officer, IEnova
Juancho Eekhout is an energy professional with international experience managing development, commercial, and commodity trading teams across various sub-sectors of the energy supply chain.
Mr. Eekhout is currently serving as Vice-president of Development for IEnova which is a US$8-billion publicly-traded energy infrastructure company in Mexico and a subsidiary of Sempra Energy. In this role, Mr. Eekhout is responsible for all greenfield development activities across the oil, gas, and power sectors throughout Mexico.
Prior to joining IEnova, Mr. Eekhout worked since 2008 in various commercial development, origination, and M&A roles in the Sempra Energy family of companies in LNG, electric utilities, and corporate development.
Prior to joining Sempra Energy, Mr. Eekhout worked for eight years in the Oil Trading and Refining & Fuel Marketing departments at BP in Chicago, London, Caracas, and Mexico City.
Juancho Eekhout holds a master’s degree with honors in public policy from the University of Chicago and a bachelor’s degree in economics from the Universidad Católica Andrés Bello in Venezuela.
