Karén Breytenbach was previously with the National Treasury’s, Public Private Partnership Unit and is currently Head of the Department of Energy's, Independent Power Producer (IPP) Office, a partnership between the Department of Energy, National Treasury and Development Bank of Southern Africa. Karén has extensive experience in large scale infrastructure projects. As Head of the IPP Office, Karén has been instrumental and is responsible for the internationally recognised Renewable Energy IPPP rocurement Programme and is also responsible for the new base load programmes, gas utilisation masterplan, coal and co-generation IPP Programme.
