Karen Sinard is Vice President, Environmental and Sustainability with Occidental Petroleum Corporation (Oxy) in Houston, TX. In this role, she has responsibility for all aspects of the Corporation’s environmental and sustainability efforts. Karen has enjoyed a 25-year employment with Oxy’s chemical and oil and gas businesses. Throughout her career, she has been an avid learner, mentor, and teacher on health, safety, environmental, and regulatory matters, and has been heavily involved in environmental stewardship activities, including permitting, conservation, and restoration. Karen has a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of North Dakota and has served as Oxy’s technical expert for numerous industry trade associations.
