Chairman and CEO, Centennial Resource Development

Mark Papa is currently Chairman and CEO of Centennial Resource Development, Inc., a Delaware Basin E&P company and is also an Advisor at Riverstone Holdings, LLC, a private equity firm specializing in energy investments.  Prior to joining Riverstone and Centennial, Mark was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of EOG Resources from 1999 to 2013, where he grew the company from $2 billion to $60 billion market cap and the stock appreciated 2,035% versus the peer group average of 486% and 94% for the Dow Jones.  During his tenure EOG was responsible for initiating the U.S. shale oil revolution and discovered the south Texas Eagle Ford and North Dakota Bakken oil plays, becoming the largest shale oil producer in the U.S. and the largest oil producer in the lower 48 states.  In February 2010 and in February 2013, the Harvard Business Journal rated Mr. Papa one of the top 100 CEO’s in the world and he was repeatedly ranked by Institutional Investor Magazine as the Top Independent E&P CEO.  Mark has a Petroleum Engineering degree from the University of Pittsburgh and an MBA from the University of Houston.
