Mauricio Herrera
Executive Coordinator, Mexican Petroleum Fund
Mauricio Herrera holds a M.A. (1997) in Public and Private Management from Yale University. He received his B.A. in Economics (1995) from the Mexico Autonomous Institute of Technology (ITAM).
Since January 2016, he is the Administrative and Executive Coordinator of the Mexican Petroleum Fund for Stabilization and Development. In this position he manages the financial aspects of the hydrocarbons contracts, which includes the determination of payments due to the State. Additionally, he leads the team in charge of receiving and distributing the government oil and gas revenues. Eventually, his responsibilities will include the management of the long-run reserve of the Fund.
Mauricio Herrera had been working at the Central Bank of Mexico since 1992, where he held many positions at the Central Bank’s Comptroller and Risk Management Department, and the Central Bank’s Operations Department. On October 2014, when the Mexican Petroleum Fund was created he was designated Head of Investments.
