Norman is a Director of Corporate Research, with a specific focus on National Oil Companies. He has been Wood Mackenzie’s coverage analyst for Equinor for over 10 years.

Norman joined Wood Mackenzie in 1999 and initially worked on Southeast Asia upstream research. After joining Corporate Research in 2005, Norman has been responsible for initiating Wood Mackenzie’s coverage of CNPC, Sinopec, CNOOC, Gazprom, Rosneft, INPEX, PTTEP and most recently Saudi Aramco.

During his time at Wood Mackenzie, Norman has worked with IOCs, NOCs, governments and financial institutions on a range of advisory mandates. His views on NOC are sought after by institutional investors, as well as Wood Mackenzie's more traditional client base.
Norman holds a degree in geology from the University of Cambridge and an MBA with distinction from the University of Edinburgh. He is also a CFA charterholder.
