Paul O’Keefe
Client Managing Director, Aon
Paul is based in Singapore where he leads Aon’s Enterprise wide approach to Energy and Petro Chemical companies for the Asia region.
He joined Aon, in 2009, in London, placing insurance risks, particularly for complex energy accounts, before relocating to Asia in 2013 to lead the Energy & Mining business, later taking up his current expanded role to promote Aon United.
As the Enterprise Client Lead, he provides the Aon connection with senior executives and oversight of any corporately led workstreams and be answerable to general progress & delivery of services.
Experience
Prior to joining Aon, he was a Global Head of Differentiated Services at Marsh, where he managed a significant staff base to tackle complex claims and provide quality engineering services to clients. This followed 10 years in loss adjusting, as part-owner and board executive director of Steege Kingston.
Paul’s last industry role was as project Leader, responsible for ensuring the completion of the construction and commissioning of the Laminaria FPSO. Previous roles included 3 years in an oil & gas engineering house, before joining Schlumberger in 1990, under a prestigious scholarship award by the UK Fellowship of Engineering. During his time there he produced the very first safety case (voluntary) for the UK government. As well as other engineering projects, he spent time in two Singapore shipyards, in charge of converting two drilling rigs.
In 1994, after graduating in law, Paul took an industry break and spent 2 years at the UK P&I Club, managing shipowners defence of claims, providing law advisory and managing solicitor engagements.
