Chief of Geothermal Innovation, Clean Air Task Force

Dr. Philip J., Ball is currently the Chief of Geothermal Innovation for the Boston-based Clean Air Task Force (CATF). He assumed this role in 2022, to develop a vision for superhot rock geothermal, and implement pathways for large-scale, global deployment of superhot geothermal technologies.

Philip leverages his technical experience gained within the oil and gas industry over two decades. Working with National and International oil and gas companies, (NOC’s INOC’s and IOC’s), he gained global exploration experience. Philip’s education includes a Ph.D. and M.Sc. in geology from Royal Holloway University of London, a B.Sc. (dual honors) in History and Geology from Keele University, where he holds the position of Honorary Senior Research Fellow, since 2017. Finally, in (2020), Philip completed his a MBA (with distinction) from the London School of Business and Finance (LSBF).
