Tania Ortiz Mena
Chief Development Officer, IEnova
Tania Ortiz Mena is chief executive officer of IEnova. Prior to her appointment as chief executive officer in September 2018, she was chief development officer, responsible for the company’s business development and commercial areas from 2016 to 2018.
Ortiz joined IEnova in 2000. She has held the positions of manager, project director, director for government and regulatory affairs, vice president of external affairs and vice president for business development and external affairs.
From 1994 to 1999, Ortiz worked for PMI, Pemex’s international trading subsidiary, where she was responsible for the residual oil products international trading area.
Ortiz is a board member of the Mexican Natural Gas Association, the World Energy Council – Mexico Chapter, Energy Regulatory Commission Advisory Board, U.S.-Mexico Energy Business Council, and, as of August 2018, serves on the board of directors of Oncor Electric Delivery Company, LLC. Ortiz also is a member of the Mexican Council for International Relations. From 2015 to 2016, she was president of the board of Mexico’s Natural Gas Association.
Ortiz holds a bachelor’s degree from Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City and a master’s degree in International Relations from Boston University.
