
Caralyn Bennett
EVP & Chief Strategy Officer, GLJ Petroleum Consultants
Ms. Bennett first joined GLJ in 1990 and later went on to cofound a private oil and gas company. Returning to GLJ in 2010, Ms. Bennett has been promoted progressively to her current role as Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer. Highlights of her expertise include reserves and resource governance, mergers and acquisitions, emerging technology and business strategy. Her firm belief in the value of collaboration, continuous improvement and innovation extends to her work as an active committee member of the Petroleum Advisory Committee to the Alberta Securities Commission
the Industrial Curricular Advisor Committee, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering for the University of Waterloo and the Membership and Recognition Committee of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, Calgary Chapter. Ms. Bennett resides as the President of the Canadian Heavy Oil Association and sits on the board of the Canadian Society of Unconventional Resources. She is a passionate advocate for excellence and progressing energy industry initiatives to responsibly meet the needs of society through both incremental improvement and disruptive step-change. In 2019, Ms. Bennett received the Society of Petroleum Engineering Calgary Section award for Outstanding Role Model for Women in our Industry.
