James Gara
New Ventures Manager, PGS
James has over 18 years experience within the oil and gas industry and is PGS’ New Ventures Manager for Africa.
James started his career in 2001 as a Geophysicist with Schlumberger and ultimately to the position of Data Processing Centre Manager. During his career James also specialised in marine seismic acquisition, responsible for survey design, planning and execution.
James joined PGS in 2014, managing the technical execution of PGS’ Multi-Client seismic acquisition and processing programmes for its Europe data library. Most recently, at the start of 2018, he took on his current role of New Ventures Manager. Through liaison with government and operators his focus covers the development of new Multi-Client seismic programmes offshore Africa, particularly within the MSGBC Basin.
James graduated from the University of Manchester with a BSc Honours degree in Geology and holds an MSc degree in Petroleum Geology from Imperial College, London.
