Head of Upstream Technology, BP
Rebecca Wiles is responsible for the creation and delivery of BP’s upstream technology strategy. She leads an organization of 250 scientists and engineers working in technology centres and laboratory facilities to develop and deploy technologies to advance safety & environmental performance, improve efficiency and increase production across BP’s upstream portfolio.
With more than 30 years of industry experience, Rebecca has extensive leadership expertise predominantly in exploration and the resource appraisal of BP’s assets globally. She has a proven track record in creating high-performing work environments and in building strong and innovative teams.
In Rebecca’s previous role she served as vice president of exploration, accountable for driving the performance and delivery of functional strategic objectives and the development and deployment of global capability. In this role, she also led the exploration activity in Europe, Caspian, Russia, and the unconventional portfolio. Prior to that, she was accountable for BP’s activities in Norway including producing assets and the delivery of major projects.
