Tarek Al Hassan is currently based in London as the General Manager responsible for Shell’s crude oil trading activities related to Europe, the East and Derivatives. 

Tarek joined Shell’s trading division in London in 2001 as a business development lead for West Africa and the Middle East. He then moved to the Mediterranean crude trading desk before becoming the regional crude trading manager for Europe and the Former Soviet Union.

In 2010 he was appointed as the General Manager for crude trading East of Suez based in Singapore. In his seven years in Singapore he oversaw the development of Shell’s strategic trading relationships with key stakeholders in the Middle East and Asia.

Tarek holds an MSc in industrial engineering from L’Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts et Métiers and an MSc in Management from the London School of Economics. He is married with three young children.
