What do you see as the key challenges facing the industry and in the region over the coming 5-10 years?

The key challenges facing the industry are (i) the competition of other sources of energy such as Renewables (ii) the improvement of its sustainability perception (iii) the upgrade of its environmental footprint . The African continent is facing challenges such as bankability, business environment and lack of regulatory framework and transparency

Where do you see the opportunities for growth within the industry in the next 5 years and how is your company positioned to support these opportunities?

North and East Africa will represent the main opportunities for growth within the industry and the continent and Egypt will certainly be at the forefront of this wave of opportunities.

What are your main considerations currently when you look at investment opportunities in Africa? What makes Africa attractive for your business and what limits your appetite for investment in the African market?

Main considerations for investment opportunities, apart from obviously the geology, are the juridictions, infrastructure and the ability to sell the oil or gas to the market.

How important is the Africa Assembly as a meeting platform for the industry and what are you most looking forward to at the Assembly?

The Africa Assembly is a unique meeting platform for the industry thanks to high calibre speakers and the quality of the discussions.

What game-changing discovery/ project/ technology is currently making waves?

New technologies related to LNG.

Name one interesting fact about you that no one would suspect?

I am originally from a country deprived from Oil and Gas resources.
