Pat Carlson

Patrick B. Carlson is a well-known entrepreneur and business leader in the energy sector. He is currently the CEO and Director of Kiwetinohk Energy Corp, one of the companies he has founded and built into a success. With over four decades of experience in the industry, Patrick has established a reputation as a visionary and innovative leader.

Pat earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Calgary in 1975. He began his career as an engineer at BP Exploration Canada and later at Husky Oil. In 1996, he moved into his first executive role at Stampeder Exploration, where he quickly made a name for himself as a talented manager. After the sale of Stampeder, Pat co-founded Passage Energy in 1999, which became one of his first successful ventures. He then founded North American Oil Sands in 2001, followed by Krang Energy. All three companies were profitable ventures that benefited both employees and shareholders. In 2007, Pat founded Seven Generations Energy Ltd, which quickly became one of the largest natural gas producers in Canada. He led Seven Generations for over a decade, establishing the company as a leading player in the energy industry. In 2019, Patrick founded Kiwetinohk Energy, a company that is focused on the development of renewable energy projects.

Throughout his career, Pat has demonstrated a commitment to excellence and innovation in the energy sector. He is known for his hands-on approach and for challenging people to think differently about the industry. He is also an advocate for sustainability and the use of renewable energy, making this a priority in his business ventures. In addition to his business ventures, Pat has also made a significant impact on the communities in which he lives and works. He is passionately committed to doing things better for local communities and has included First Nations and community-building initiatives such as hospitals and scholarships into his priorities.

In 2023, Pat is to receive the Canadian Lifetime Achievement Award as part of the Canada Energy Capital Assembly and Dinner in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the energy sector and his dedication to community service. As a visionary and innovative business leader, Pat has had a profound impact on both the energy industry and the communities where he operates. With his unwavering commitment to excellence and his passion for driving positive change, Pat is an inspiration to many and a driving force behind the growth and success of Kiwetinohk Energy Corp.
